COEXIST

Alright, we have all seen the bumper sticker on cars that read “Coexist”.  I, quite frankly, am a bit baffled by the message because since we all live on the planet earth and breath the same air, we simply coexist. But the discerning citizen realizes that there is an interesting agenda behind the “coexist” movement.
The idea is for people to live with the philosophy of “to promote understanding and respect between Jews, Christians and Muslims through education, dialogue and research”.
It might seem reasonable, except that when we delve deep into what we believe and why, at the very core is that convert others to our way of thinking.  The very basic principle of having faith, say for instance, in Christ as Lord and Savior, is that He is the way, the truth, and the life and the no one can have eternal life by any other faith (John 14.6).
That is my belief.  But what of the many other sources that teach they are the way?  All I can say is that you must examine your faith, what you believe in and that it produces godly results (1 Corinthians 2.5).
When you take the time to examine the basic principles and philosophy of a given belief system it will either stand the test of God or it will not.  To know Him you must call out to Him.
It is my prayer that more people find the peace of Christ that passes all understanding.

Pastor Rich Rizzi comes from Endicott, NY where he was raised in an Italian, Roman Catholic family who taught him about belief in God.  While those basic principles taught him who God is and what He is like, Pastor Rizzi did not have a personal relationship with Christ until age 25 when he received Christ as Lord and Savior.
Following this time where the Lord took residence in him, Richard grew steadily, yet slowly.  He and Grace, his wife, dated, then married in 1988.  She, as well as many of their friends had attended the Bible College in Johnson City. NY.
It had been the Lord who placed the desire in Richard's heart to eventually seek the discipleship of a Bible College education.  This occurred in the fall of 1995 and during this time Richard felt the call into pastoral ministry.  Although reluctant, because of the burden for serving the Lord in this way, he answered that call and completed his education at Davis College (Practical Bible College at that time).
Pastor Rich & Grace Rizzi have served the Farmington, First Baptist Church since January 1, 2006.
They have two children, Lizzi & Rich Jr.
